More About Mycah Hogan

A 2007 graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, Mycah encountered the art of clown at the International Theater Workshop in Amsterdam, where he began a lifelong study of the comic world with the Christopher Bayes, Head of Physical Acting at the Yale School of Drama. Finding his clown was - and still is - the most challenging work Mycah has ever done on any stage. Mycah credits a number of other world-class teachers as major impacts on both his pedagogy and his approach to making work for the last 15 years. Big ups to Kevin Kuhlke (Acting & Directing), Mary Overlie (Six Viewpoints), Emmanuelle Delpech (Clown), Quinn Bauriedel (Improvisation), Anya Saffir (Practical Aesthetics), and Justine Wolf Williams (Play) just to name a few.

As an actor, Mycah has appeared on stage in New York (off-Broadway: Roundabout, the New Group), regionally (Williamstown Theater Fest), and locally (The Gamm Theater, The Wilbury Group, and Trinity Repertory). He has acted alongside talents like Sarah Paulson, John Cullum, Jeremy Strong, Andrew Garfield, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Roger Rees, Lily Rabe, Jason Butler Harner, and Lili Taylor, among others; and has been directed by Academy Award nominee Kathleen Turner and Tony nominee Scott Elliott.

Mycah is on faculty at Brown/Trinity Rep's MFA Program, where he teaches Clown and Physical Play. He also teaches at NYU Tisch, the International Theater Workshop in Amsterdamn, and at AF Providence High School. Mycah is the Education Programs Manager for The Wilbury Theatre Group, where he can be found on Monday nights teaching his hit class EMBODIED ACTION: An Acting Class for Everyone.
