What makes an act excellent? This 2 session intensive interrogates how burlesque and circus acts can supersede their skill and become beautifully political. The focus will be two-fold. Love for the audience which includes act structure (beginning, build and reversal in the middle and ending reveal). How your body inherently is a political canvas for art. April 18 | Trapeze Dynamics with Troy Lingelbach
In this workshop, we will explore fundamentals of hand beats with skill progressions appropriate to a variety of student levels. We will also connect various tempos and rolls, with an emphasis on entrances and exits for elbow circles. All the skills we learn can be applied to lyra as well. This workshop will cater to intermediate/advanced level aerialists who meet the prerequisites, even if trapeze is not their primary discipline. Prerequisites: 3 unassisted consecutive skin

Antoine Boissereau is a French-born graduate of the National Circus School of Montreal. He has been performing from an early age, from big top tours to intimate cabarets to independent original creations. Credits include: Cirque du Soleil, The 7 Fingers, Circus Monti, Cirque Eloize, Water for Elephants on Broadway. He strives to share his passion for circus and aerial arts as much on stage as in the studio with fellow passionate members of the circus and dance community. An
